Description

The Arbor Knot is primarily used to attach fishing line to the arbor of a fishing reel.

Structure

The Arbor Knot is composed of two Overhand Knots jammed against each other. When tightened, the Overhand Knot at the working end tightens against the knot tied around the running line and prevents the working end from pulling through. The Arbor Knot is identical in structure to the Canadian Jam knot.

Common Uses

  • attach fishing line to a reel or arbor.
  • tie a backing line onto a fly reel.
  • secure fishing line (monofilament, braid, or fluorocarbon) to any reel or spool.
