Structure

The Swing Hitch has a structure similar to the Clove Hitch but is more secure, even when subjected to a shifting load.

Strength/Reliability

The Swing Hitch is stable even when the load end moves. This is a desirable quality for a rope swing in that it reduces the wear on the rope. Many other hitches have a tendency to saw back and forth when the load shifts causing wear on both the rope and the branch or spar to which it is attached.
